Island Lake Diner
A Long Island diner that turned one bread cone into a whole section of its menu: Grub Cones, Lobster Cones, Breakfast Cones, and more.
Island Lake Diner first put BreadKone on the menu with the Prime Smash Cone: a smash burger served in a toasted bread cone instead of a bun. It was easy to eat, it looked great on camera, and guests kept ordering it.
So the kitchen kept going. Today the menu has a full lineup of Grub Cones, each one a toasted parm BreadKone stuffed with a diner favorite: three-cheese mac; Boom Boom Chicken, with a crispy cutlet, chopped greens, and boom sauce; and Penne a la Vodka, which has become one of the diner’s best sellers.
Then came the specials. Lobster cones get a ladle of melted butter right at the table, and breakfast cones are filled with scrambled eggs and bacon and finished with a maple drizzle. Same cone, completely different meal.
That’s the part we love most. One product, no new equipment, and a menu that keeps growing because the kitchen keeps finding new things to put in it.
